Reflection paper on what I have learned from the class: 

I have learned many things this semester in my Sociology Class. I have learned that culture is very important to a Society. I am so glad I am an American living in the United States. Studying about other cultures was fascinating but I also realized how much I have here in this country. I am a single mother with five children. I have lived on my own raising my children now for fourteen years. I have much more then a single women in any other country. The fact that I have a home, car and a good job makes me a very rich women. I am very fortunate to be able to further my education by going to college. I see my life differently now that I’ve taken this class. There is so much out there to learn. The more I learn the more I realize how very much I don’t know. Each assignment has led me to think about the subject’s more then I ever would have. The social issues we are facing are many it’s hard to know where to give your time and attention. I am also taking a social work class the subjects and issues have been similar, it has helped to reinforce the topics I have learned and given me the desire to want to be a social worker to help our society with its many issues and problems. Strong individuals make a strong society we need to help each other. We are all linked together each generation has the opportunity to help the next one. I feel it is my responsibility to leave this world better for my children then it was for me.
